From James Tufenkian:
A Shield medallion Armenkian Kazak weave wool rug in green. This Sevan Kazak Spruce rug features a distinguishable large stylized cruciform central medallion commonly found in antique Caucasian rugs from the Lake Sevan region of Armenia. The central motif is often referred to as a shield or butterfly wings because of the shape of the medallion. This carpet also has tree motifs in each of the corners of the field. Sevan Kazak Spruce was hand-knotted in Armenia of 100% wool using our Kazak weave which has a pile height around a third of an inch. The field is a lovely spruce green with accents in red, blue, yellow, and off white.
