The Boteh design is a paisley floral motif and is interpreted in Farsi as ''a cluster of leaves''. It is a popular pattern in the east and has been used by a variety of people so the meaning behind it is just as varied, it's been called a pear, pine cone, cypress tree, leaf, female parrot, and fig. The design has a paisley look about it which is recognizable the world over and has been making it's way back into fashion and home decor. This Boteh rug was handcrafted in Armenia of 100% wool using our Kazak weave which has an average pile height of about one third of an inch.
