From James Tufenkian:
A cloudband motif Armenian Kazak weave wool rug in red. The Chondzoresk II Red rug features two medallions containing S-shaped figures which are a mainstream Caucasian type. The S-shaped figures are also known as Dragon Kazak as well as Cloudband Karabagh and is often attributed to the town of Kh'ndzoresk, near Goris (famous for hiking and spelunking) which is where this rug gets its name although historically these rugs were woven in various areas in the region. This rug was hand made in Armenia of 100% wool using our Kazak weave which has a pile height of about a third of an inch. Chondzoresk II Red has a beautiful red field with medallions in light olive green and blue with accents of ivory and light butter yellow.
